Catel 2.5 release date + documentation for Catel current stable version

Jan 19, 2012 at 11:20 AM

Hi Geert,

we are using Catel 2.4 + on-line documentation on http://catel.catenalogic.com, but documentation contains parts, that is not implemented in Catel 2.4, propably documentation contains parts also for beta versions of Catel.

For example we want to use CommandHelper (http://catel.catenalogic.com/t_catel_mvvm_commandhelper.htm ), but it is not implemented in Catel 2.4.

Does it exist documentation only for Catel 2.4?

When do you plan Catel 2.5 release?

Thanks for reply.

There is no separate 2.4 documentation. We plan to release 2.5 ASAP (hopefully this weekend, waiting for the last feedback).

You can already download the latest nuget beta:

Ok. Thanks for quick response.

I have been thinking about this. We will try to implement per version documentation, but it cost a lot of web space :)

Downloadable Chm or pdf file per release is would be enough ;> Thanks.

Hmmm, I think on-line documentation is better. It took some time (I am not very good with PHP), but I was able to create a dynamic script that is able to find the right versioning:

http://catel.catenalogic.com

By default, it opens the latest documentation, but you can also fall-back to version specific documentation.

Chm or Pdf version works better for poor internet access users, just like me.

The chm version can be distributed into the nuget package.

We can generate this as well. I will include it in the releases.

ok, generated the chm and added it to the 2.4 release. For the upcoming 2.5 release, I will also include the help file. I will also add it to the installer.
